Vidyanagar Govt. PTTI was established in 1968. The Institute is located atVidyanagar, Dist.- Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal on a land of 14730.56 Sq. Meters and well connected by road and railways. It is easily accessible from Bhandartikuri Railway Station or Nabadwip Dham Railway Station.

It is a purely Government Institute under the administrative control of SCERT, School Education Department, Govt. of W.B offering D.EL.ED course for two years which is affiliated to West Bengal Board of Primary Education(WBBPE) and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE). It is a male Institution, being residential in nature and having a  intake capacity of 100 students (50 students for each session).

Presently the institution possesses an efficient infrastructure which includes well lit classrooms, computer rooms, ODL-room, recreation room, auditorium, library, boy’s hostel and a beautiful ample  play ground.

Vidyanagar Govt. P.T.T.I. is one of the renowned Government Primary Teachers’ Training Institute in Purba Bardhaman district situated in a Village of Nadanghat P.S namely Vidyanagar. Also this Institute started its illustrious journey in the year of 1968. The Institute is fully Government Institute under the Administrative control of SCERT, S.E.D, Govt. of West Bengal and also affiliated by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education and recognized by  the National Council for Teacher Education. The Institute is functioning on 3.64 acre beautiful campus, at Vidyanagar, near Nabadwip Dham, 22.9 k.m. distance from the Kalna Sub-division of Purba Bardhaman District.

Vidyanagar Govt. P.T.T.I. aspires to offer quality teacher education to flourish, develop and empower the student-teacher fraternity and to foster life long learning.

Teachers’ Education is going to witness a paradigm shift from old age Diploma of Training to Diploma of Education. This Institute has taken teacher education as a mission to enlighten both deputed and fresher’s with new innovative ideas. Continuous updating of knowledge and use of modern technology in Teacher Education with enhancement of capability through pursuits of higher knowledge have been the mission of our Institution. 1.Strategies may be formed towards the 100% attendance of the students as per direction of Right to Educational Act.
